I re-checked compact Bambino references. The ≤39mm Bambino family is consistently listed with mineral / box mineral glass. The sapphire Bambino references found are larger 41.6mm models such as RA-AC0F16S30B-style European/international variants, so they fail the max-39mm constraint and are not ideal for this Japan/Bic shortlist.

Removed / demoted

Timex: removed. It does not belong on a Japan/JDM-prioritized Bic Camera shortlist unless used as a generic backup.
Master Works Quattro: still interesting on style/price, but not promoted because sapphire was not confirmed and long-term quality is less convincing than Citizen/Orient/Seiko.
Casio Lineage: practical but utility-first, bracelet-first, and less aligned with classic leather/Bambino taste.
Seiko 5 SNXS SBSA293: fun JDM automatic, but casual and Hardlex/mineral-class, so below the classic/durable picks.
